About Our Studio
The Maywood Dance Center teaches students aged 2 to 82 and employs instructors with professional performance credits as well as college degrees, many in education. The instructors all bring their own expertise and style to the Dance Center. They are also currently very active in the field, and the students therefore become extremely well versed in all styles of dance.
The resident dance company, DANCEFUSION, has performed many shows at a variety of parks and venues throughout the eastern United States.
They recently headlined at the Villa Roma Resort in the Catskills as well as entertaining at numerous venues such as Arts Days, Relay for Life, nursing homes, school events, Girl Scouts of America, First Night celebrations, street fairs, and women's clubs. They also headlined at Broadway on the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!

Director, Deborah Thomas-Cofrancesco feels so fortunate and grateful every day to be able to continue doing what she loves best and hopes to continue passing that on to her students! Deborah and her instructors are thrilled to work with all dancers at every age and level!

Dance education began at the age of three, and as a young teen Deborah pursued her art and education in New York City. She has performed with such notables as Jimmy Slyde, Gregory Hines, and Savion Glover. She also has a BA in Speech and Theatre Arts Education with Concentrations in Dance and Education. She is also a certified teacher K-12 .To this day, she continues to study and has added Pilates and Zumba certification to her teaching credits.

Professional Credits
Ms. Thomas-Cofrancesco has performed with the Joe Frazier Revue, has done production shows in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and at Lily Langtry's in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and in Montreal, Canada. She has also performed off-Broadway and in musicals at dinner theaters in the tri-state area and on Cunard cruise ships. She has taught dance at numerous nursery schools, performing arts high schools, and universities. Deborah has also taught master classes at Villanova University and judged many dance competitions and pageants, as well as taught and choreographed for many different schools and studios. She has served on the committee for Dance Teacher Magazine as a consultant and spokesperson for dance education. Her choreography was featured in The Miss N.J. pageant and most recently Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant She feels so fortunate to be teaching her former students' children, and loves serving generation to generation! Her career at the Dance Center began more than 30 years ago, and Deborah has been the proud Owner/Director for the past 27 years.
